Agra Fort (UNESCO World Heritage Site)
Red Fort or Lal Kila of Agra
Built in red sandstone this splendid fortress was built by great Mughal emperor Akbar. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This architecturally beautiful fort complex has many buildings inside. Pearl Mosque, Diwan-E-Am, Diwan-E-Khas, Jahangiri Palace, Khas Mahal, Shish Mahal, Musamman Burj, etc are prime attractions inside the fort complex.
Itimad-Ud-Daulah (the Baby Taj)
Also known as the Draft of Taj Mahal or Jewel Box.
It is a beautiful tomb built by Mughal empress Noorjahan in the memory of his father Mirza Ghiyas Beg. Located on the left bank of Yamuna River, the monument is known for its beauty and is also called the Baby Taj, Little Taj, or Draft of Taj Mahal. Its interiors are considered more beautiful than of Taj Mahal.
Fatehpur Sikri (UNESCO World Heritage Site)
The abandoned capital of Mughal
It is situated at a distance of 35 km from the city of Agra. This ancient town was built by Mughal emperor Akbar as his capital. But the city was abandoned soon due to the scarcity of drinking water. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Buland Darwaza, Panch Mahal, tombs, mosque, ruins of fort & palaces, etc are attractions of Fatehpur Sikri.
